Picture this: salt air, easy laughter, and the quiet hum of tyres on the path as Mount Coolum rises in the distance. That’s the ecoTekk story — two families, one big idea, and a lot of good times on two wheels.
It started in 2015 with Darren Walters, a Noosa tourism veteran who’d spent years running resorts along this stretch of coast. He noticed something: guests loved exploring Noosa’s bike paths, but not everyone had the legs for a full day of pedalling. His hunch was simple — give people a little electric boost, and suddenly everyone, from fitness fanatics to first-timers, could keep up and have the time of their lives. That hunch became ecoTekk Noosa, and it turned out he was onto something big.
Further south, Stuart and Tracey were living an entirely different life — until a lucky prize draw at a conference put them on an e-Bike for the first time in over twenty years. One ride around Noosa was all it took. The grins didn’t stop, old memories of cycling came flooding straight back, and a new obsession was born. In 2018, with Darren’s encouragement and support, the husband-and-wife team launched ecoTekk Sunshine Coast (@ecoTekkSC) — and the rest, as they say, is history.
These days, ecoTekk is who locals and visitors turn to for a genuinely fun way to see the coast — from Noosa’s Biosphere trails to the Sunshine Coast’s pathways in Caloundra, and out into the Hinterland’s cafés and Glasshouse Mountains views. Our solar-charged e-Bikes make the ride effortless, so you can spend less time huffing up hills and more time keeping an eye out for migrating whales, spotting wallabies along the trail, or just soaking up that Sunshine Coast feeling.
