The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Australia’s longest recreational rail trail, covers a distance of 161km from Wulkuraka to Yarraman, following the old railway line that was originally built in the 1880s to transport timber, milk, and beef. Along the way, you’ll encounter wild rural landscapes, historic landmarks, and picturesque country towns.

For a different kind of adventure, the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail takes you through farmland and bushland, with plenty of opportunities to stop for a cuppa and soak up some local history.

One trail that’s not to be missed is the Ewen Maddock Dam Trail, named after an early European settler and local pioneer. This trail follows the banks of the dam and is designed with beginners in mind, making it a great choice for families or anyone looking for a leisurely ride. You can combine this with the Dularcha National Park Trail making a loop that passes through Mooloolah, where you can enjoy a break with delicious food and drinks at Jones Street Kitchen.

As you pedal through blackbutt forests, fern gullies, and melaleuca wetlands, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and soak up the stunning views of the dam and Mount Beerwah towering over the landscape in the distance. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, both in the trees and in the waters of the dam.

All Railtrail MTB e-Bike hires come with:

• Safety helmets are supplied for each rider. It is mandatory to wear helmets in Queensland at all times whilst riding;
• A bike lock is provided with each e-bike;
• A rear bicycle rack is fitted, and pannier bags can be hired if requested;
• Battery chargers for charging (overnight & multiple days hire only).

Extras you can hire:

• Second battery;
• Pannier saddlebags.

Personal Safety:

• Closed-in shoes and helmets must be worn at all times whilst riding bikes;
• Protective clothing suitable for mountain biking is recommended:
• 18+ or 9+ when accompanied by an adult supervision rider;
